Physical Structure of Earth

According to the distance from sun Earth is the third position in the solar system and according to its size it is the fifth biggest planet in the solar system.

The diameter with respect to its poles is 12714 kilometres and the equatorial diameter is 12756 kilometres. The difference in both the diameters even after the shape of earth is spherical is just because it is flatter at the poles the shape of earth is known as geoid shape. Its circumference with respect to poles is 40008 kilometres where as its circumference with respect to equator is 40075 kilometres.

The whole area of surface of earth is around 50.995 crore square kilometres. Out of this area 29% part that is around 14.889 crore square kilometre is of land and 71% that is around 36.106 square kilometre is water.

The maximum distance between earth and sun is around 94.5 million miles which is known as aphelion. The minimum distance between earth and sun is around 91.5 million miles which is known as perihelion.

The closest planet to Earth is Venus. In 2003 Mars became the nearest planet to Earth for some time. The farthest planet from earth is Neptune.

What will happen if we go inside the Earth ? 

The surface of earth has land and water and above the surface it has atmosphere. Average density of earth is 5.52 gram per cubic centimetre. The density increases while moving towards center.

While moving towards center of earth , its temperature also keeps on increasing. Temperature increases about 2-3 degree celsius per 100 metre.

The temperature is 1100 degree centigrate 100 kilometres below the surface of Earth. The temperature is 3700 degree centigrate 2900 kilometres below the surface of Earth and is 4300 degree centigrate 5100 kilometres below the surface of Earth.

So simply if we go inside the earth , we will burn ourself. It will be nothing more then a suicide.
